The flag of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda was adopted in 1910 but only made official in 1967. The flag is composed a red field with the British Union Jack in the upper left quadrant. The right side of the flag is dominated by the Bermudan coat of arms, a white shield with a green bottom third on which stands a red lion holding a smaller blue shield depicting the 1609 sinking of the ship Sea Venture.
