The flag of Bhutan was adopted in 1969 in honor of the country’s moniker, “Land of the Dragon.” The flag, in a 2:3 ratio is divided diagonally from bottom left to top right into two triangles. The top triangle is yellow and the bottom if orange. A large white dragon facing right is centered on the flag. The two colored halves represent the temporal and spiritual power of the Buddhist nation.
