The Australian territory of Christmas Island adopted a flag in 2002. It uses a 1:2 ratio. The flag is divided diagonally from top left to bottom right into two sections. The left (bottom) section is blue, and the top (left) section is green. The blue section contains the Southern Cross constellation as it appears on the Australian flag. The green section contains a gold depiction of a bird native to the island. Centered on the flag is a gold disc containing a green map of the island.
