The flag of the Democratic Republic of Congo was adopted in 2006 to replace the flag in use from 1997 to 2006. The flag is an aquamarine field cut diagonally from top right to bottom left by a red band edged in yellow. A five-pointed yellow star sits in the upper left corner. The flag is similar to the one used from 1966 to 1971.
