The flag of the Marshall Islands was adopted in 1979 and uses a 1:2 ratio. The flag is defined by law as a blue field with “two contiguous trapezoidal bars extending from the lower left of the Flag, diagonally across to the upper right of the Flag.” The top trapezoid is orange, and the lower one white. The upper left corner features a 24 pointed star whose four points parallel to the sides of the flag are longer than the other 20.
