Vancouver Olympic organizers are being told to “beef” up bilingual services in French. Graham Fraser, the official languages commissioner stated, "While the organizing team has made progress in incorporating French into its work, more must be done."

Frazer is convinced that translation and simultaneous interpretation and translation services now because the demand will only increase as the official Games near.

This request is not new and echoes prior government studies that recommended the Games should be pan-Canadian and provide better French translation services for both workers and spectators.

The organizing committee was receptive to the study and Frazer's suggestions and is already beginning to implement some of the recommendations made.
